Prof. Dr. Ivan Rozman
currently holds the
position of rector of
the University of
Maribor and the position
of full professor
at the Faculty of the
Mechanical Engineering
at the University of
Maribor. He studied at
the Faculty of
Electrical Engineering
of the University of
Ljubljana and graduated
in 1977. In 1980 he
became a master of
science of the Higher
Technical School of
Maribor and in 1983 he
gained a doctorate.
The professional and
scientific work of
Professor Dr. Ivan
Rozman covers the
following themes and
narrow specialist
fields: the architecture
of information systems ,
the integration of
information systems, OO
paradigms, system
specifications, CASE
tools, metrics in the
lifecycle, the quality
of information systems
and of the processes of
planning and
maintenance, educational
themes.
Prof. Rozman has
regularly presented his
research work and his
biography comprises more
than 600 units. In his
academic carrier Prof.
Rozman performed several
functions, e.g.:

Institute of Electrical
Engineering 1984 – 1988
at the Technical Faculty
, chairman of the
Committee for Raising
Quality at UM FERI,
principal of the
Institute of
Informatics, dean of
FERI (Faculty of
Electrical Engineering,
Computer Science and

University of Maribor,
chairman of the
Committee for Quality
assurance at the
University of Maribor
from 2000, chairman of
the National Committee
for Quality Assurance in
Higher Education from
2000, representative of
the Republic of Slovenia
in ENQA (European
Network of Quality
Assurances Agencies),
member of KORIS
(coordination of
research institutes of
Slovenia), vice
president of the Danube
Rectors Conference from
2005 to 2006, president
of the Danube Rectors
Conference from 2006,
awarded the Silver
Placard of the
University of Maribor
(1995), and the
Slovenian Informatics
association’s
Recognition for
Professional Work.
As rector of the University of Maribor Prof. Rozman has been responsible for the realisation of several important development projects and has also greatly improved the public image of the University of Maribor.
