Sibry JM. Tapsoba

Trained in Education Administration, Comparative and International Education in the Department of Educational Administration, Organization and Policy at the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA), Sibry Tapsoba holds a Masters Degree and a Ph.D.

Dr. Tapsoba had a great experience within the African Development Bank as Education Specialist, Assistant to the Vice President, Corporate Management, Advisor to the Vice President, Policy and Planning, Lead Education Officer in the Human Development Department and Manager of the Higher Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training Division. He currently heads the African Development Institute.

Prior to joining the Bank, Dr. Tapsoba was the Regional Director of the International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC-Canada) for West and Central Africa, in charge of the overall management of IDRC-Canada operations in the 24 countries. Before his appointment as Regional Director, he served as Team Leader and Senior Program Specialist for Social Policy and Education. He has taught at the Institut des Sciences de l’Education of the Université de Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso and at the Ecole Nationale d’Administration of Burkina Faso.

He has served as Senior Consultant to several institutions and is the author of several books and refereed articles on higher education, research and economic development issues. Dr. Tapsoba is currently the Chair of the ADEA Working Group on Higher Education.
