Assuring the follow-up of the Joint Council of Europe/UNESCO Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region - Lisbon Recognition Convention, which was adopted at the Council of Europe/UNESCO Diplomatic Conference held in 1997 in Lisbon, has become a principal point of reference for conducting UNESCO-CEPES activities related to this strand. This effort is directly related to the fact that along with the Council of Europe, UNESCO-CEPES assures the secretariat of the specialized network – the Joint Council of Europe/UNESCO European Network of National Information Centres on Academic Mobility and Recognition (ENIC).
